June 19, 1865 was the date slavery officially ended in the United States. Two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Union Soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas and shared the news to the enslaved that they were now free. This moment dawned a new light in the lives of enslaved Blacks and brought a new era of hope. Though many challenges still remain to this day, Black men, women and children are now FREE! Celebrate this moment all year round with this commemorative tee!
